Łódź Design 2008
This is the second time when Paradyż Group actively participates in the International Łódź Design Festival 2008. This event is the only festival in Poland exclusively devoted to design.
Exhibitions, workshops, lectures, meetings with designers, presentations of various design schools filled the main weekend of the festival (16-19 October), during which about 5000 people visited the event. The motto for the present edition of the Festival is "Play & Joke" . The idea is to present design from a humorous perspective. It is no longer about fulfilling needs, function and decoration, design can also be fun, entertaining, or a cultural manifest.
Paradyż Group, promotes its new brand, My Way, in collaboration with the acknowledged designer - Tomek Rygalik an artistic project was prepared - "The urban armchair", which had its premiere during the Festival. Urban armchair is the project aiming to place the armchair in the context of urban space. The project combines modern art with design. The armchairs are highly aesthetic, and at the same time ergonomic. They were created using ceramic tiles decorated with the innovative digital print technology. Paradyż Group is the only ceramic tile manufacturer in Poland with access to this technology, and is among the few in the world.
3 varied images with natural motifs - stone, hay and grass were used to decorate the armchairs.
The Urban Armchair project aims to interfere with the urban landscape and create a spot for contemplation or informal meetings in the carefully selected spots in Łódź.
Exhibits were placed in the three Festival centers - w Art Center, Manufaktura and Atak Design as well as on Schiller’s Square. The Urban Armchair captures attention by surprise and stimulated the discussion about the future of the city. Innovative technology allows, paradoxically, to get city dwellers closer to nature.
During the Festival, he masterpiece by Paradyż Group Product Manager Bartłomiej Kwasek, the unique set of ceramic tiles "MIETEK".
